About Anni

I have a Bachelor's of Science in Health Sciences: Pre-Occupational Therapy from Portland State University. I taught swimming lessons for about 6 years where I found my love of working with children who have Autism, which led me to finding Occupational Therapy. I then worked at Mt. Hood Kiwanis Camp in the horse program and did an internship in South Africa observing and assisting with hippotherapy (rehabilitation on horseback). Since then, it has been my dream to one day become an occupational therapist and help people with disabilities have more access to horses. I am going to graduate school for OT in the near future.
I have been riding under Andrea Quale for 5 years, focusing on dressage which I believe is a solid foundation for all riding. I personally enjoy the challenges horses can provide. My teaching style is based in balance for the horse and client, and will be gentle but firm. Our communication with the horse is different from how we communicate to each other, as such we must be fair in all our interactions with our equine friends.
I look forward to hearing how I can assist you!
